Our mission does not include assistance to respite providers. We encourage you to seek a foster care license to provide care full time.

Notice to Families

To ensure our support is being directed solely to the population we are committed to serving, we conducted an internal review of our policies, procedures, and paperwork. As a result, we have revised our acceptable forms of documentation, and will begin implementation in the new year.

As of January 1, 2026 we will be requiring updated/current documentation from all existing MTaB families as well as any new families going forward. Current and legal documents must be on file in order for you to shop in the warehouse or enroll for services in our upcoming Enrichment Center.

Frequently Asked Questions

We prefer that you shop primarily at the warehouse. Larger items that cannot be stored at the warehouse are posted there as well as some items from third-party donors. This page is also a way for families to share items they no longer need. MTaB Marketplace is an extension and not the primary source for providing for the children in your home.

Yes, children are welcome at the warehouse! We request that you keep a close eye on them as there is not a designated childcare area. We also ask that you assist the children in picking up after themselves.

You can visit the warehouse as often as you need items for the children! There is no limit on  the number of visits but there are restrictions on certain items. Please see our Shopping Guidelines.

We accept gently used and new items any time during our hours of operation at Warehouse #2. Please drop them off before 1:15pm. We can provide a donation receipt for your tax purposes. We can not accept anything larger than a crib due to space restrictions. Please email [email protected] if you have furniture to donate. Thank you!

No, we do not offer a pick-up service at this time.

No, everything in the warehouse is offered at no charge to the families we serve.

Please contact us and advise that the child was reunified, so we can update our records and bring back any items that are no longer needed.

More Than a Bed provides essential items to foster, kinship, and adoptive families and children in a congregate care setting. The children we assist must be in foster care, under the Tribal Division of Child Welfare Services, are under legal guardianship, or have been adopted. We do not assist the biological parents for reunification of their biological children. We also assist teens who are in AYAP, TILP, or group homes as well as teens/adults who are in care and have been diagnosed with developmental disabilities where they cannot live on their own. Legal documentation is required for all the children/adults that we serve.

We are open Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and the first and third Saturday of each month from 8:30 am – 1:30 pm.

No, but please give yourself enough time to shop as we close at 1:30 pm. To expedite your time, we recommend you know the items you need for the children in your care to include sizes and specifics you are in need of.

The person providing care for that child/adult whose name appears on the legal documentation or if necessary, an assigned caseworker.

Some items have a limit.  Clothing typically does not have a limit, however, we ask that the families take whatever their current need is.  Our guidelines are posted above and in the warehouse for your convenience.

The MTaB Facebook Marketplace page (only for caregivers) requires the items be picked up directly from the person offering the item. We consider the Facebook page to be an extension of our Warehouse, so everything posted is at no cost to the family receiving that item. In order to participate, your information and documentation with MTaB must be current.  Please keep in mind that MTaB Marketplace is an extension and not the primary source for providing for the children in your home.

MTaB requires the child sleeping on the top bunk be at least 8 years old and does not have a diagnosed disability.

More Than a Bed organizes a range of activities annually including events for Back-to-School , Christmas, and Easter.  Stay up to date on our Events Page.

We are opening an Enrichment Center in 2026 that will offer educational and recreational opportunities in a trauma-informed space. There are currently plans for martial arts, drama, robotics, and visual arts classes, with future opportunities for unique opportunities like chess classes and sports workshops. There will also be specific programs for youth aging out of foster care including life-skills classes, mentorship, and employment resources. Stay tuned for updates.

Yes, we are always looking for individuals and groups to volunteer at the Warehouse! Please call 520-428-5280 or email our Volunteer Coordinator, Pam Kenney, at [email protected].
